dbferry backs up every database on your managed Postgres or MySQL cluster separately — straight to your own S3 bucket. Your database, your bucket, your rules.
No credit card. First backup in under 10 minutes.
Streamed end-to-end. Nothing ever touches our disk.
The problem
Your provider's backups restore the entire cluster. One broken tenant means rolling back everyone.
You can't download the dump. You can't keep it longer than a week. You can't take it elsewhere.
A cluster snapshot only restores into the same provider. A real dump moves with you — any host, any region, any time.

How it works
A read-only user is all we need — we auto-discover every database on it.
Any S3-compatible storage: AWS, Backblaze, Wasabi, Hetzner, DigitalOcean Spaces, Cloudflare R2.
Every database ships nightly — compressed, encrypted with your key, verified. We alert you if a backup doesn't happen.
Dumps stream straight from your cluster to your bucket. We orchestrate the pipe — your data never lands on our disks.
Backups are encrypted with your age key before they leave the stream. You hold the private key; we only ever see ciphertext.
Silence is the scariest failure mode. If a scheduled backup goes missing, you get an email with the reason and the fix.
Automatic test-restores into a throwaway container prove every backup actually restores — not just that it uploaded.
Pricing
Half the price, twice the granularity — comparable tools start at $49/mo. Final numbers land after beta.
For one cluster and up to 5 databases.
For client projects and multi-tenant fleets.
